Takizawa Ham has been in business since the Taisho era
. It started as a small “town meat store.”
While moving forward with the times, the “flavor” and “technology” have been passed down unchanged.
“Safety” and “quality” have continued to evolve to a constantly high standard while adapting to the changing times.
We will introduce the trajectory of Takizawa Ham from its founding to the present day.

1964 (Showa 39) | Established the Sendai Factory (Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture) *Closed in 2008 due to transfer of production to the Izumikawa Factory |
1966 (Showa 41) | Company name changed to “Takizawa Ham Co., Ltd.” |
1972 (Showa 47) | Established the Izumikawa Factory (Izumikawa-cho, Tochigi City). |
1976 (Showa 51) | Exhibited at the International Meat and Ham Olympics (21st Slabakt) held in the Netherlands. Won the first two gold medals and two silver medals in Japan. *Gold medals: Boneless ham, Gypsy salami *Silver medals: Raw salami, Beef pie |
1982 (Showa 57) | Sendai Meat Center established (now Yoneyama Processing Plant) |
1983 (Showa 58) | Established a handmade Cherry Smoke House (Izumikawa-cho, Tochigi City) * Changed name to Cherry Smoke Factory in 2002. Became a factory specializing in prosciutto. * Closed in 2007 due to transfer of prosciutto production to Nishikata Factory. |
1985 (Showa 60) | Established the Izumikawa Meat Center (Izumikawa-cho, Tochigi City). |
1986 (Showa 61) | Established the Otani Natural Aging Plant (Otani-cho, Utsunomiya City. Former Otani stone quarry site). Started full-scale production of Italian-style raw ham. |
1987 (Showa 62) | Research and development department established |
1987 (Showa 62) | Established Tochigi Pack Center (Iwaimachi, Tochigi City) |
1990 (Heisei 2) | Registered over-the-counter with the Japan Securities Dealers Association (currently the Tokyo Stock Exchange JASDAQ) |
1992 (Heisei 4) | Tochigi Factory is completely expanded and renovated (to enhance its production base for processed foods). |
1994 (Heisei 6) | Established the Izumikawa Logistics Center (Izumikawa-cho, Tochigi City) |
1999 (Heisei 11) | New Delica factory established (Ohira-cho, Tochigi City) |
2002 (Heisei 14) | In 2002, the handmade factory was changed to a prosciutto specialty factory, the “Cherry Smoked Factory.” |
2004 (Heisei 16) | Sennan Mirai Kobo Bissen opens new Sennan factory (Kakuda City, Miyagi Prefecture) *Takes over the handmade ham and sausage production from the Cherry Smoke factory |
2005 (Heisei 17) | Head office location moved to Izumikawacho, Tochigi City, Tochigi Prefecture |
2007 (Heisei 19) | Established Nishikata Factory “Sakigake” (in Utsunomiya Nishi Core Industrial Park, Nishikata-cho, Kamitsuga-gun) |
2009 (Heisei 21) | Kanuma Logistics Center established (Izumikawa Logistics Center relocated to Kanuma City) |
